Google accuses Microsoft of cheating

Google created a large number of random queries and developed fake results for each, and within weeks, the same results for the random queries appear on Bing’s search engine.

Microsoft addresses the issue by noting that their toolbar uses clickstream data which helps to rank sites and accuses Google of using “spy-novelesque stunts”.  Google’s Amit Singhal called Microsoft’s ‘copying’, “plain and simply cheating”, he goes on to say, “Some Bing results increasingly look like an incomplete, stale version of Google results – a cheap imitation.”

Google conducted an experiment after miss-pelt words and results were replicated on Bing.

Blow are some comparison pictures via Google’s blog.
